On June 3, festive events were held at the Martial Arts Sports Complex of the Ashgabat Olympic Town under the motto "Ashgabat is a city of sports opportunities and achievements", dedicated to the announcement of the capital of Turkmenistan as the City of new sports opportunities of the Commonwealth.

During the event, representatives of world sports and politics made video appeals, noting the outstanding achievements of Turkmenistan and its prospects in the international sports arena. Among the speakers was the President of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), David Haggerty, who recently visited Ashgabat.

Turkmen champions, prize-winners of international tournaments, determined to achieve new outstanding sports victories, also spoke at the event with words of gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan.

A special part of the holiday was made up of demonstrations by young athletes who demonstrated their skills and mastery in various types of disciplines.
