Okko acquired the rights to broadcast European football competitions
Okko online cinema has received exclusive rights to broadcast European football Cup matches, the company's press service reported.
From the 2024/25 season, the games of the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League will be broadcast on the platform. The first match shown will be the UEFA Super Cup game between Real Madrid (Spain) and Atalanta (Italy) on August 14.
Okko subscribers will have access to live broadcasts and recordings of matches, the ability to select a sound track, as well as highlights, reviews and analytical programs.
Starting from the new season, the format of the Champions League will change: the number of teams will increase from 32 to 36, and the number of group stage matches will increase to 144.
According to Sport Express, some of the games can be broadcast on public channels in accordance with UEFA requirements. However, Okko will now make the decision on broadcasts.
Previously, the rights to show European cups in Russia, including Champions League matches, were owned by Match TV.
