Tennis legend: Two-time Olympic champion Andy Murray announced his retirement after the Paris Olympics
The 37-year-old tennis player announced before Wimbledon that he would retire after competing in the Olympics. The cause was injury. As Andy himself said, he doesn’t want to finish, but he physically can’t play anymore. As a result, he was eliminated in the first round of doubles, which took place from July 1 to July 14.
Wimbledon said goodbye to a legend on the main court. It was this tournament that made him a superstar. In 2013, he won Wimbledon and became the first Briton in 77 years to do so. In 2016, he won Wimbledon for the second time.
Murray is the only two-time Olympic champion in men's singles in history. The first time he won gold was at the Olympic Games in London (2012), the second in Rio de Janeiro (2016).
