The Spanish national football team defeated France in the final of the 2024 Olympics

The Spanish national team defeated France in the final of the men's football tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games, which was held at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris. The match ended 5-3 in extra time.

In the 11th minute, France midfielder Enzo Millau opened the scoring. The Spaniards quickly responded: Fermin Lopez Martin scored in the 18th minute, and seven minutes later he scored a double. In the 28th minute, Alex Baena scored from a free kick, increasing Spain's advantage. The French did not give up: in the 79th minute Magnes Akliushe reduced the gap, and in the 90th +3rd minute Jean-Philippe Mateta equalized from the penalty spot – 3:3.

In extra time, Spain's victory was brought by striker Sergio Camello, who scored in the 100th and 120+1st minutes. The tournament was held from July 24 to August 9, and Spain became the new Olympic champion, replacing the Brazilian national team, which won the last Games.
