AFC has simplified the licensing of Turkmen football clubs to participate in international tournaments
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has made changes to the licensing process for Turkmen football club, making it easier for them to participate in international competitions. Starting from the 2025/26 season, clubs that have received a license to participate in the Turkmenistan Premier League will automatically be permitted to participate in the AFC Challenge League without the need for an additional license, the FFT reports.
The Football Federation of Turkmenistan announced the start of the licensing process from October 1 for participation in the Turkmenistan Premier League of the 2025 season and the AFC competitions in the 2025/26 season.
However, to participate in higher-level tournaments such as the Elite Champions League and the AFC Champions League 2, clubs will still need to obtain a separate license.
