Turkmenistan national team midfielder Teymur Chariyev shared details of his career and recent successes in an interview with the Turkmen Sporty newspaper.

Special attention in the conversation was paid to his performance for the "Abdysh-Ata" football club from the city of Kant, with which he became the champion of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2023.

“In my first year of playing for "Abdysh-Ata", I became the champion of the Kyrgyz Republic, which inspired me to new achievements,” Chariyev noted.

The footballer spoke about his path to professional sports, starting with childhood training in his hometown of Mary. He gratefully recalled his first coach Dmitry Gasanov, who instilled in him a love of football. Chariyev described in detail his experience playing for the Turkmen clubs "Energetik" and "Merv", and also spoke about his service in the army, where he continued to play sports, playing for the futsal team "Milli Goshun".

Speaking about his move to the Kyrgyz club, Chariyev noted the role of the Polish football agency Playsport in this transfer. He also shared his impressions of "Abdysh-Ata"s participation in the AFC Cup, where the team reached the semi-finals.

A special place in the interview was occupied by memories of playing for the national team of Turkmenistan. Chariyev spoke about his debut in 2022 and the highlights of playing for the youth team at the Asian Cup, including a goal against the Iranian team.

- Each match at the Asian Cup among youth teams under 23 in Uzbekistan left special memories. I am especially proud of the goal scored from a long distance against the Iranian team, one of the strongest teams on the continent, - the footballer shared.

In conclusion of the interview, Chariyev outlined his goals for the future: “Like any football player, my main goal is to constantly improve and make a significant contribution to the victories and achievements of the team I play for, especially the national team.”
