The vice-champion of Turkmenistan, "Altyn Asyr," successfully passed licensing and entered the AFC Champions League-2, which is analogous to the previously existing AFC Cup, where the "Turkmenaragatnashyk" team reached the final in 2018. The team, coached by Yazkuli Hojageldiyev, started the new tournament from the preliminary round, where they won away against the Indian "East Bengal" with a score of 3:2, earning the right to represent Turkmenistan in the AFC Champions League-2 group stage.

In the AFC Champions League-2 group stage, 32 teams are divided geographically into two zones – Western and Eastern. "Altyn Asyr" plays in Group "B," where they compete for two spots in the round of 16 along with the Saudi club "Al-Taawoun" (12 points), "Al-Khalidiya" from Bahrain, and "Air Force," both having 9 points. "Altyn Asyr" is at the bottom of the table with no points. In the next round, the "telecoms" will play away against Bahrain's "Al-Khalidiya" on December 4.
