11-year-old tennis player from Turkmenistan wins international tournament in Dubai

Young Turkmen athlete Sulgun Ishankuliyeva won the international TEN-PRO Global Junior Tour tournament in Dubai, leaving no chance for her rivals in the U11 age category. In the final match, she confidently beat Georgia's representative A. Beradze with a score of 6:2, 6:1. This was reported by the publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

On her way to victory, Ishankuliyeva successively defeated athletes from Algeria, the UAE, Russia and Kazakhstan.

This success was not accidental for the young athlete, who began playing tennis at the age of four. She already has a victory at the Autumn Cup in Istanbul and a silver medal at the previous TEN-PRO Global Junior Tour tournament in the U10 category.

It is worth noting that Sulgun's talent was noticed by specialists from the prestigious Patrick Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in France, where such world tennis stars as Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka and many others trained. A month of training at this academy significantly improved the athlete's level of play, which is confirmed by her recent successes in international tournaments.

Today, Sulgun Ishankuliyeva is a member of the Turkmenistan women's team (U14) and trains at the Ashgabat Academy.

TEN-PRO Global Junior Tour is a series of 14 international tournaments held in the world's leading tennis academies for athletes in the age categories from U10 to U16. The tournament in Dubai was held on the courts of Rackets Academy and brought together talented tennis players from all over the world born in 2009-2017.
