At the upcoming Asian Winter Games in Harbin, the Turkmen national team will be represented by a delegation of 37 people, including 25 athletes - 22 hockey players, two figure skaters and one short-track skater, the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan announced.
The competition, which Harbin is hosting for the second time in its history, will bring together athletes from 34 countries, including all five Central Asian states. The opening and closing ceremonies of the Games will be held at Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Centre Stadium.
The organizers paid special attention to the comfort of foreign guests. A special border control procedure has been implemented at Taiping International Airport, and multilingual staff and automatic translation systems are used to overcome the language barrier. In addition, advanced technologies using artificial intelligence are being used to speed up identity verification and baggage screening.
For China, this will be the third Asian Winter Games in history. The first competition in Harbin was held in 1996.
