The head coach of the Turkmenistan national team Mergen Orazov and the captain of the team Arslanmurat Amanov shared their expectations for the upcoming match against Uzbekistan in the qualifying cycle of the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup.

As Championat writes.Asia, at the pre-match press conference, Orazov noted the warm welcome from the Uzbek Football Association and announced the careful preparation of his players. – In the last games, we showed that we can impose the fight on Uzbekistan. The opponent has a strong squad, but tomorrow we will try to play defense in an organized manner and look for chances in attack," the coach said.

Arslanmurat Amanov stressed that the national team of Turkmenistan is not going to give up without a fight to the favorite of the group. – We are not going to give up. Tomorrow we will try not just to fight back and play defense, but also to go on the attack, play a pass," he said.

Mergen Orazov also explained that the Turkmenistan national team was based on a preparatory training camp in Turkey because of the good conditions and convenient logistics for the flight to Tashkent.

The match between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will take place on June 6 at 19:30 at the Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent. The hosts will take to the field in white uniforms, and the guests in green.
