The Turkmenistan national team won 9 medals at the Central Asian Championship in Traditional Karate
Nine medals were won by athletes of the Turkmenistan national team at the Central Asian Championship in traditional karate, held in Almaty. “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports this.
The competition brought together about 300 karatekas from five countries, who competed for the titles of the strongest in the disciplines of kata (demonstration of formal exercises) and kumite (fights) in various age categories.
The delegation of Turkmenistan included 12 athletes, nine of whom won 4 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals.
The highest awards were given to:
- Ihlas Annagurbanov (kata, 14-15 years old),
- Ibragim Shagulyev (Kumite, 14-15 years old),
- Nurgeldi Annagurbanov (kata, 18-21 years old),
- Selim Myratdurdyev (Kumite, 22-25 years old).
The silver medalists were:
- Serdar Bayryev (Kumite, 22-25 years old),
- Yagmyrmyrat Sahetmyradov (Kumite, 18-21 years old),
- Gurbannazar Hummedov (Kumite, 22-25 years old).
The following climbed to the third step of the podium:
- Yunus Muhammetgulyev (Kumite, 14-15 years old),
- Myratbek Baltayev (Kumite, 22-25 years old).
In the medal team competition, the Turkmenistan team took third place.
The athletes were prepared for the Central Asian Championship by the head coach of the Turkmenistan national team Dovlet Berdyev and his assistants Kemal Atayev, Diyar Hojayev and Eymur Mademinov.
