On June 27, President of the National Weightlifting Federation of Turkmenistan Berdyniyaz Myatiyev met with Director General of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Achilleas Tsogas at the IWF headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland. This is reported by the MIT.

The parties discussed issues related to the holding of international and regional weightlifting competitions in Turkmenistan, the organization of training seminars with the participation of international experts, the training of athletes, and agreed to continue cooperation in this area.

During the meeting, Achilleas Tsogas officially invited Turkmen judge Chara Mammadov to serve weightlifting competitions at the Summer Olympic Games.

Recall that for Chara Mammadov, his first debut as a weightlifting judge took place in 2017. In 2019, the World Junior Championships were held in Las Vegas (USA). It was then that he happened to participate in it as a judge.

The Olympic Games in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11. The weightlifting tournament will be held from August 7 to 11.
