Turkmen wrestler Alp Arslan Begenjov won the bronze medal of the Asian Championship (U-23)
Turkmen athlete Alp Arslan Begenjov won a bronze medal in freestyle wrestling at the Asian Championship (U-23).
The tournament was held from June 22 to June 30 in Amman, Jordan.
In the quarterfinals, Alp Arslan defeated Muhammad Abdullayev from Kyrgyzstan with a score of 12:7. In the semifinals, the Turkmen wrestler was opposed by an athlete from China, Nan Chao. In this fight, the Chinese opponent turned out to be stronger — 4:1.
In the fight for the bronze medal, Alp Arslan Begenjov took to the carpet against Daler Chulibayev from Uzbekistan. In this fight, the wrestler from Turkmenistan did not leave any chances to the Uzbek athlete, defeating him with a score of 12:1.
The "gold" of the tournament was won by Chinese Nan Chao, a silver award from Rustem Myrzagaliyev from Kazakhstan, another "bronze" from Amit Amit from India.
