A record number of tickets have been sold for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, said the head of the tournament's organizing committee, Tony Estanguet.

Two weeks before the start of the Games, more than 8.6 million tickets have been sold.

— The record belongs to the 1996 Games in Atlanta - 8.3 million tickets, and we have long since surpassed this milestone. To date, 8.6 million tickets have been sold for the Olympic Games and more than one million for the Paralympics. We are proud that we have already broken the record, but we can achieve higher figures,” Estangue was quoted as saying by AFP (Agence France-Presse).

It is noted that the organizing committee predicts that the total number of tickets sold will reach 10 million.

The Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Turkmenistan will be represented by six athletes at the Olympics in Paris.
