Turkmenistan has amended the Law “On Combating Doping in Sports”. This is stated in the message of the electronic newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

According to the new version of Article 15, in the event of an unfavorable result of a doping test, the athlete or his representative has the right:

1) Request analysis of sample “B”;

2) Immediately provide an explanation;

3) Be present during the re-analysis of sample “B”, if necessary;

4) Receive copies of documents based on the results of the analysis of sample “A”, containing the information provided for by the International Standard for Laboratories;

5) To a timely, fair and impartial hearing in accordance with NADAT anti-doping rules;

6) File an appeal to the International Anti-Doping Commission against the decision of the first instance in accordance with the NADAT anti-doping rules.”

In addition, changes were made to Article 17 of the law, according to which all disputes related to violations of anti-doping rules are now resolved in accordance with the NADAT rules.
