A young tennis player from Turkmenistan received awards from tennis legend Rafael Nadal
Turkmen athlete Suleyman Hudayberdiyev won gold and silver medals at an international tennis tournament for athletes under 14 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The competition featured 36 athletes from 13 countries. In the doubles tournament, the Turkmen tennis player, partnering with Pakistani Muhammad Hassan Usmani, won the gold medal. In the individual competitions, Khudayberdiyev added a silver medal to his collection.
At the award ceremony, the medals were presented to Suleyman Hudayberdiyev by Rafael Nadal, one of the greatest tennis players of modern times. The Spaniard has 22 Grand Slam titles, two Olympic gold medals, and five Davis Cup victories with the Spanish national team.
For the young athlete from Turkmenistan, receiving awards from such a legend of world tennis was an especially memorable moment.
