The 11th FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championship will start in Debrecen, Hungary, and the women's team of Turkmenistan will take part in it.
The Turkmen team, which included Medina Ernepesova, Jennet Hajimammedova, Mariya Salmina and Milana Yazberdiyeva, was placed in group “B”. Their opponents will be the teams of Spain, Hungary, Germany and France.
The first match of the Turkmen team will be held on August 27 at 20:30 Ashgabat time against the Spanish national team.
A total of 20 men's and 20 women's teams will take part in the tournament. Fans will be able to follow the competition live on the official FIBA 3x3 YouTube channel.

An unusual children’s football tournament, the Friendship Cup, was held in the capital of Turkmenistan, bringing together professional football players and young sports fans on one field.
The event, organized by the Dostluk Yildizlar Children’s Football Club together with the Ahal Football Club and the Football Federation of Turkmenistan, attracted more than 150 young participants and their parents.
The Idea of the tournament, aimed at popularizing football and strengthening ties between generations, received broad public support. A special feature of the event was the participation of parents on an equal basis with children, which created a unique atmosphere of a family sports festival.
Director of FC Dostluk Yildizlar Rustem Esenov shared details of the tournament organization in an interview with Turkmenportal: “Our primary goal was to attract parents’ attention to their children through football. We started with the idea of parents’ participation, and then the media, football federation and sponsors joined us.”
Esenov also spoke about the activities of his club, which has existed for three years and works with children aged 5 to 12. “We strive not only to develop physical skills, but also to instill the philosophy of football and spiritual values,” he emphasized.
A special event of the tournament was the participation of professional football players, including players from the Turkmenistan national team. According to the organizers, this gave the children the opportunity to feel the level of professional football and be inspired for further development.
In conclusion, Esenov noted the success of the event and shared his plans for the future: “We would like to make such festivals regular, perhaps even with international participation. Our goal is for the people of Turkmenistan to feel the taste of football, its love and fame.”
Turkmen karatekas won three bronze medals at the 22nd Asian Championship among cadets and juniors under 21, which ended today in Manila.
The competition, held by the Asian Karate Federation WKF in the capital of the Philippines, brought together 561 athletes from 30 countries.
WKF is the English abbreviation of the name of the World Karate Federation, which includes 200 countries representing five continental federations. Today, it is the only karate organization recognized by the International Olympic Committee and has more than one hundred million members.
The Turkmenistan team at the Asian championship was represented by 10 athletes, 2 coaches and 3 international judges.
As previously reported, the first bronze medal in our team was won in kumite among cadets in the weight category up to 57 kg by a 9th-grade student of Ashgabat Secondary Specialized School No. 61 Alymuhammet Kakaliyev.
On the final day of the competition, the collection of the Turkmenistan team was replenished with two more bronze medals. They were won by an athlete of the Karatedo Federation of Turkmenistan Magtymguly Annayev and a 4th-year student of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Davut Nazmyradov. Both achieved success in kumite in the age category up to 21 years: Magtymguly - in the weight category up to 55 kg, in which 13 athletes competed for the awards, and Davut - in the weight category up to 75 kg, where 16 karatekas competed.
On the way to the medal, M. Annayev won two victories. In the first match, he won against Hasimudin Ak Ahmad Munib Ayman (Brunei) – 10:2, in the second he lost to Truong Nam Tien (Vietnam) – 4:8. Thanks to the Vietnamese reaching the final, Magtymguly received the right to fight for bronze in the consolation tournament. In a tense medal match, our compatriot defeated Salem Aladjmi (Kuwait) – 9:8 and rose to the third step of the podium.
Davut Nazmyradov achieved the same success, winning three victories. In the first round, he won against Muhammadali Saimatov (Uzbekistan) – 6:3, and in the second he defeated Abdulrahman Al-Mohanadi (Qatar) – 10:0. Having then lost in the semi-final to Mohammadirfan Askaripur (Iran) - 4:11, Davut was content with the right to the match for 3rd place, in which he won against Lu Vo Anh Duy (Vietnam) - 10:2 and was awarded the bronze medal.
Earlier this year, M. Annaev and D. Nazmyradov won the 9th Central Asian Championship in Samarkand. And now they have become bronze medalists of the Asian Championship. Magtymguly began to study karate with the coach of the sports school of the Ak Bugday etrap of the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Ahal velayat Amangeldi Byashimov, and Davut - with the coach of the 1st sports school of Balkanabat of the Balkan velayat Nazmammet Shatlykgulyev. Currently, both athletes are improving their skills in the Turkmenistan national team under the guidance of head coach, 5th dan black belt holder Aydin Charyev.
Starting from the third round of the Premier League and the new season of the National Cup, the Football Federation of Turkmenistan (FFT) has introduced video recording of all matches. This innovation is aimed at improving the quality of national competitions and creating a full archive of all official games.
Video recordings of matches will be provided to participating teams, which will allow the coaching staff to conduct a more detailed analysis of the games. Turkmen fighter Abdullah Babayev won a spectacular victory over Iranian athlete Mahdi Frahani at the AMC Fight Nights 124 tournament in Yerevan. Babayev finished the fight with a choke in the first round.

"Ahal" defeated "Kopetdag" in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the 2024 Turkmenistan Football Cup. The game took place at the Nisa Stadium in Ashgabat and ended with a score of 2:1.
The match started unexpectedly for the home team – already in the 3rd minute, Shiri Annayev put "Kopetdag" ahead. However, Ahal did not allow the opponent to celebrate their success for long. In the 20th minute, Meylis Diniyev equalized the score, skillfully heading in a corner kick from Elman Tagayev.
