President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of the XXV conference of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmen of the World, stressing the importance of strengthening ties with compatriots abroad and promoting Turkmen culture in the international arena, TDH reports.

In his address, the Head of state noted that the conference, held in the year "The Storehouse of the Mind of Magtumguly Pragy" and on the eve of Turkmenistan's Independence Day, will contribute to the consolidation of the Turkmen world and the activation of friendly ties.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that strengthening comprehensive relations with compatriots abroad is an important direction of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. The President noted that the Turkmen of the world are actively involved in the large-scale transformations taking place in the country and make a significant contribution to the development of various spheres, including economy, culture, science and education.

The Head of State also noted the important role of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmen of the World in strengthening international relations and popularization of Turkmen culture, customs and traditions. He stressed that the Association, established in 1991, has become a prestigious organization uniting the Turkmen of the world and contributing to the development of fraternal relations and effective cooperation.

In his address, Serdar Berdimuhamedov also noted the importance of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtumguly Pragy, which is widely celebrated this year. He stressed that Turkmenistan, celebrating the 33rd anniversary of independence, is confidently moving forward, achieving high results thanks to stability, unity and love of the people for the Motherland.

The President of the International Gymnastics Federation praised the potential of Turkmen athletes

President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Morinari Watanabe paid an official visit to Ashgabat today and was impressed by the sports infrastructure of Turkmenistan's capital, Turkmenportal reports.

After inspecting the gymnastics halls in the Olympic City, Watanabe noted the huge potential of young Turkmen athletes and expressed readiness to support their development.

- You have very good opportunities and also a lot of talented children. They have a great future”, - the FIG head said. He stressed the importance of proper training to realize this potential and said that a plan for the development of Turkmen gymnastics with an eye on the Olympic Games in 2028 and 2032 is already being discussed.

Watanabe arrived in Ashgabat accompanied by the head of the Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) Abdulrahman Ben Saad Al-Shatri and Vice President of AGU Timur Abduvaliyev. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the sports infrastructure of the Turkmen capital and assess the prospects for the development of gymnastics in the country.

The FIG President expressed surprise at the excellent conditions for training in Turkmenistan and noted that he had already shared his impressions with his colleagues in Japan and China. He assured that the International Gymnastics Federation will fully support the development of this sport in Turkmenistan.

- As president of the International Gymnastics Federation, I consider myself the father of gymnastics and these children are my sons and daughters. I will support them and do my best”, - Watanabe emphasized.

The FIG head also expressed hope for the participation of Turkmen gymnasts in the future Olympic Games, calling it a common dream for the athletes and the federation.

Delegation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in the inter-parliamentary forum of Central Asian countries

The delegation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in the Second Interparliamentary Forum of Central Asian States, which took place on September 12 in Khiva, Uzbekistan.

As reported on the website of the Mejlis, the forum is aimed at supporting friendly cooperation between the Central Asian states at the parliamentary level, developing interparliamentary relations in the region, and disseminating the positive experience of active participation of parliamentarians in the socio-economic development of the country.

The athletes from Turkmenistan are performing successfully at the 5th World Nomad Games in Astana. The Turkmen athletes won 3 medals on September 10, and 2 of our compatriots stood on the podium on September 11. One of them is a champion of the 5th World Nomad Games.

A member of Turkmenistan belt wrestling team, a 2nd-year student from Turkmen State Institute of Finance Annagurban Allaberdiyev won a gold medal in the 90 kg weight category.

A member of Turkmenistan belt wrestling team, an enlisted serviceman of the Ministry of Defence of Turkmenistan Palvan Gurbangeldiev won a bronze medal in the 100 kg weight category.

 The athletes are competing for 97 sets of medals in 21 sports. In total, 581 medals to be awarded to the winners of the competitions.

A member of the Turkmenistan kurash wrestling team, a physical education teacher at school 22 from Kerki etrap Dayanch Omirov won a silver medal in the under 81 kg weight category.

A member of the Turkmenistan kurash wrestling team Vepa Avlyakuliev won a bronze medal in the under 66 kg weight category.

A member of the Turkmenistan belt wrestling team, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan Silapberdi Nuryev performed in the Kazakh wrestling in the under 82 kg weight category and won a bronze medal.

President of Turkmenistan meets with Malaysian Foreign Minister

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Dato Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hassan. During the meeting, the guest conveyed cordial greetings from the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim bin Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of the visit for the further development of partnership between Turkmenistan and Malaysia. He expressed confidence in the success of the upcoming meetings and negotiations, emphasizing the friendly relations between the two countries based on the principles of equality and mutual respect.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the oil and gas sector, where PETRONAS is actively involved in projects to extract hydrocarbon resources and train specialists.

The international conference and exhibition "HI-TECH Turkmenistan 2024" is being held in our capital city

On September 10, within the framework of the Investment Forum and specialized exhibition, the International Conference and Exhibition on Attracting High Technologies and Innovations to the Economy of Turkmenistan “HI-TECH Turkmenistan 2024” began its work in the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

The two-day representative forum is intended to become a reflection of the successful steps of our Fatherland along the path of creation, steady economic growth and prosperity in the era of the Revival of a new era of a powerful state.

As is known, in accordance with the Concept of Development of the Digital Economy, developed on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag, today in Turkmenistan, successfully integrating into the world economic space, advanced technologies are actively introduced into all spheres of life of the state and society.

This, in turn, attracts great attention from the world community, primarily representatives of foreign business circles interested in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmen partners.

A clear confirmation of this was the solid composition of the participants of the current forum, including domestic public and private structures, as well as leading companies of the world, in particular, manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech equipment, developers of advanced technologies and software from the Republic of Korea, China, the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Iran, Germany, the USA, Great Britain, Sweden, Malaysia, etc.

The exhibition organized by the joint efforts of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the "Oguzabat" Economic Association became a platform for demonstrating manufactured products and provided services, discussing the possibilities of establishing long-term mutually beneficial cooperation.

The discussion of the prospects for joint work on the further implementation of innovations continued within the framework of the international conference on attracting technologies and innovations to the economy of Turkmenistan, which opened in the afternoon.

The heads and responsible employees of educational and scientific institutions, rectors and faculty of higher educational institutions of the country, representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, as well as a number of foreign companies and specialized structures were invited to participate in the mutually interested dialogue.

As noted during the plenary session devoted to issues of economic development and investment potential of Turkmenistan, science and education, introduction of advanced technologies are the driving force of the ongoing large-scale work to strengthen the foundations of our sovereign state.

Turkmenistan national team midfielder Teymur Chariyev spoke about his career in Kyrgyzstan

Turkmenistan national team midfielder Teymur Chariyev shared details of his career and recent successes in an interview with the Turkmen Sporty newspaper.

Special attention in the conversation was paid to his performance for the "Abdysh-Ata" football club from the city of Kant, with which he became the champion of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2023.

“In my first year of playing for "Abdysh-Ata", I became the champion of the Kyrgyz Republic, which inspired me to new achievements,” Chariyev noted.

The footballer spoke about his path to professional sports, starting with childhood training in his hometown of Mary. He gratefully recalled his first coach Dmitry Gasanov, who instilled in him a love of football. Chariyev described in detail his experience playing for the Turkmen clubs "Energetik" and "Merv", and also spoke about his service in the army, where he continued to play sports, playing for the futsal team "Milli Goshun".

Speaking about his move to the Kyrgyz club, Chariyev noted the role of the Polish football agency Playsport in this transfer. He also shared his impressions of "Abdysh-Ata"s participation in the AFC Cup, where the team reached the semi-finals.

A special place in the interview was occupied by memories of playing for the national team of Turkmenistan. Chariyev spoke about his debut in 2022 and the highlights of playing for the youth team at the Asian Cup, including a goal against the Iranian team.

- Each match at the Asian Cup among youth teams under 23 in Uzbekistan left special memories. I am especially proud of the goal scored from a long distance against the Iranian team, one of the strongest teams on the continent, - the footballer shared.

Secretary General of the NOC of Turkmenistan took part in the elections of the head of the Olympic Council of Asia

Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan Ata Akmammedov took part in the 44th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), which was held on September 8, 2024 in New Delhi, as stated in a statement by the NOC of Turkmenistan.

During the event, elections were held for the positions of the organization's management and regional vice-presidents, as well as members of the Executive Committee. Raja Randhir Singh from India was elected as the OCA President. In his speech, he emphasized the unity of the Asian sports community, stating: “Asia is one whole, one family”.

The Assembly also discussed important issues of sports development in the Asian region, including improving sports infrastructure, supporting inclusiveness and engaging youth.

Mayagozel Ekejeva took 6th place at the Paralympic Games in Paris

A representative of Turkmenistan, Master of Sports of International Class Mayagozel Ekeeva took 6th place in the parapowerlifting tournament at the Paralympic Games in Paris, lifting 112 kg. The athlete competed in the weight category up to 86 kg, where 10 athletes competed for medals, olympics.com reports.

Tayana Medeiros from Brazil took first place with a result of 156 kg. Feifei Zheng from China, who holds the world record in this weight category (159 kg), took second place with a result of 155 kg. Alejandra Serrano from Chile won the bronze medal with a result of 134 kg.

Mayagozel Ekeeva already has significant achievements in her sports career. In 2008, at the Paralympic Games in Beijing, she took 7th place in the weight category up to 56 kg with a result of 82.5 kg. In 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, she took 5th place in the weight category up to 73 kg, lifting 105 kg. She also has bronze medals at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Paralympic Games and 5th place at the 2023 World Championships in Dubai.

The head of the Turkmen delegation, Takhir Shorakhanov, previously noted that the athlete's minimum goal is to enter the top five, and the maximum is to win a medal at the Paralympic Games.

The national teams of Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia played to a draw in a friendly futsal match

The futsal players of the Turkmenistan national team drew 2-2 with the Saudi Arabian team in the first friendly match at the training camp in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).

The Football Federation of Turkmenistan informed the "GA" correspondent that the game took place at the "Sharjah Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club Indoor Hall" sports complex. The goals for our team were scored by Maksat Soltanov and Rovshen Orazmukhammedov.
