Turkmen tennis player Ilima Huseynova won the silver medal at the international tournament in Kazakhstan
Tennis player from Turkmenistan Ilima Huseynova won a silver medal at the international tournament — ATF 14&under Shymkent GA.
The competition was held from June 22 to 29 in Shymkent (Kazakhstan).
Within the framework of the tournament, Ilima Huseynova held five meetings, in four of which she won a landslide victory.
In the 1/16 finals, she beat Vlada Kuzmenko from Kazakhstan with a score of 6:1, 6:2. In the next round of the 1/8 finals, the Turkmen athlete defeated Sofia Kirova (Kazakhstan) with the score 6:3, 6:4.
In the quarterfinals, Huseynova met with another Kazakhstani athlete, Medina Utepbergen. Despite losing the first set 1-6, Ilim showed determination and was able to turn the tide of the match, winning the next two sets with a score of 6-2, 6-0.
In the semifinals, the Turkmen tennis player met with the Iranian athlete Eileen Mohammadian Fard, winning with a score of 6:2, 6:2. In the decisive match Huseynova played against Hana Shabanpour from Iran. In this match, the Iranian tennis player was stronger — 6:2, 6:2.
