From August 15 to 16, the city of Cholpon-Ata in the Kyrgyz Republic is hosting a major sports tournament – ​​the Sambo World Cup.

Men and women in sport and combat sambo compete for the title of the best athletes in 26 weight categories. Based on the results of the first day of the competition, winners and prize winners in 12 weight categories were determined.

Turkmen sambo wrestlers showed worthy results, winning four bronze medals.

In sport sambo, Babamurat Bayramov came in third in the weight category up to 58 kg, and Kambar Umarov also won bronze in the weight category up to 71 kg. In combat sambo, the Turkmen team added to its collection of awards thanks to Kerim Kerimov (up to 64 kg) and Agasapar Muhadov (up to 79 kg), who also took third place.
