The women's futsal team of Turkmenistan, led by head coach Kamil Mingazov, has arrived in Tashkent to participate in the 2025 Asian Cup qualifying tournament. The team consists of 15 players, including 5 foreign players.

Shakhzadbek Matyakubov (up to 102 kg) climbed to the top step of the junior podium three times, winning gold in the snatch (177 kg), clean and jerk (219 kg) and biathlon (396 kg). He set a new world record among juniors in the clean and jerk and biathlon.
Anamjan Rustamova (up to 87 kg) won three gold medals among juniors: in the snatch (135 kg), clean and jerk (103 kg) and the combined total (238 kg).
Gulyalek Kakamyradova (up to 64 kg) won two gold medals in the junior competition – in the snatch (92 kg) and the combined total (202 kg), as well as bronze in the clean and jerk (110 kg).

On December 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for a working visit to the Russian Federation to participate in the informal Summit of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, traditionally held on the eve of the New Year. The current Summit has become another confirmation of the common desire of the CIS states to bring fruitful cooperation to a new level that meets modern realities and the existing impressive potential.
Of course, the priority area of partnership in the Commonwealth is the trade and economic sphere. Turkmenistan pays great attention to deepening and diversifying productive ties in this area. This is confirmed by the Declaration on Strategic Economic Cooperation of the CIS Member States, adopted following the Commonwealth of Independent States Summit held in Ashgabat in October 2019.
Among the key tasks of the present time are also increasing mutual trade, increasing the volume of trade, developing long-term ties in the industrial sector, digital transformation, stimulating investment and business activity.
And of course, the humanitarian sphere has been and remains an important area of interaction in the CIS format. The cultural interconnection and spiritual closeness of the peoples of our countries, centuries-old common history are the solid foundation on which integration processes are built within the Commonwealth.
President Vladimir Putin invited the heads of state of the CIS to take part in the upcoming celebrations in Moscow next year on the occasion of a significant anniversary – the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. As was emphasized, during the harsh war years, our peoples demonstrated unparalleled heroism and courage at the front and in the rear, and the Commonwealth countries sacredly honor this immortal feat.
Using the opportunity, the head of the Russian Federation also conveyed to all citizens of the CIS countries his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the upcoming New Year.

Turkmen athlete Suleyman Hudayberdiyev won gold and silver medals at an international tennis tournament for athletes under 14 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The competition featured 36 athletes from 13 countries. In the doubles tournament, the Turkmen tennis player, partnering with Pakistani Muhammad Hassan Usmani, won the gold medal. In the individual competitions, Khudayberdiyev added a silver medal to his collection.
At the award ceremony, the medals were presented to Suleyman Hudayberdiyev by Rafael Nadal, one of the greatest tennis players of modern times. The Spaniard has 22 Grand Slam titles, two Olympic gold medals, and five Davis Cup victories with the Spanish national team.
For the young athlete from Turkmenistan, receiving awards from such a legend of world tennis was an especially memorable moment.
Turkmen weightlifter Gulalek Kakamuradova became the winner of the Asian Championship among youth and juniors in Doha (Qatar) in the weight category up to 64 kg.
The Turkmen athlete lifted 92 kg in the snatch, 110 kg in the clean and jerk and gained a total of 202 kg. The second place was taken by her compatriot Medina Amanova - 201 kg - (92+109), the third place was taken by the representative of Chinese Taipei Lee En-Yun - 200 kg - (89+111).
